Autism and Behavior Services

Our Approach

Dominion Care provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals ages 18 months to 21 years who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a developmental delay or disability, or similar. ABA is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals build important skills, such as communication, social interaction, and daily living skills, while also reducing behaviors that may interfere with learning or independence.

Services are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), and delivered by highly trained Behavior Therapists. Our team uses proven strategies, a trauma-informed approach, and hands-on teaching to create meaningful, individualized programs. Therapy sessions are designed to be engaging, incorporating play, routines, and everyday activities, while always emphasizing respect, dignity, and each individual’s unique strengths.

We understand that every individual’s needs are different and we do not require a minimum number of therapy hours each week. Services can be provided in your home, our clinic or in the community, depending on the individual’s needs.

Partnering with families is key to lasting success. We provide ongoing support and training for caregivers to use effective strategies at home and in the community. With your permission, we also collaborate with other professionals such as speech, occupational, or physical therapists, school staff and IEP teams, and medical providers, to ensure consistent and coordinated support.

In Home ABA

Dominion Care offers In-Home ABA therapy for children and young adults up to 21 years old, bringing support directly into the comfort of your home. Sessions are often scheduled after school or in the evenings, making this a convenient option for school-aged children. Daytime hours may also be available for children who are part-time in EIBI, transitioning out of EIBI, or need less intensive support.

Therapy in the home allows children to learn and practice skills in their natural environment, where daily routines and real-life situations happen. This helps children apply what they learn to everyday activities, including communication, following routines, self-care, and behavior support. Our team works closely with families to ensure therapy fits naturally into your home life.

Caregiver involvement is vital to long-term success. In-Home ABA provides opportunities to observe sessions, participate when appropriate, and learn practical strategies that can be incorporated into day-to-day life to reinforce learned skills and support continued growth.

Caregivers play an important role in supporting progress outside of therapy sessions. In-Home ABA offers increased opportunities for caregiver involvement, including observing sessions, participating when appropriate, and learning practical strategies that can be incorporated into day-to-day life to promote consistency and long-term growth.

In-Home ABA may be a good fit if your child:

  • Is under 21 years old
  • Needs support with learning skills in their home and in everyday routines
  • Needs support with communication or behavior management at home
  • Faces challenges at home that require extra guidance
  • Is beginning to practice skills in the community and needs support to generalize them

Families interested in In-Home services are welcome to request more information or explore our FAQ page to learn more about ABA or start the onboarding process.

EIBI - Early Intensive Behavior Intervention

Early Intensive Behavior Intervention (EIBI) is an evidence-based ABA therapy designed for young children, typically ages 5 and under, who benefit from extra support in communication, social interaction, daily routines, and managing challenging behaviors. By providing more therapy hours each week, children have more opportunities to learn, practice, and generalize important skills, often leading to faster and more meaningful progress. Early support is especially powerful during the first years of life, when foundational skills are forming and the brain is developing rapidly.

EIBI sessions are play-based, engaging, and structured around daily routines that support school readiness and overall development. While this is not an educational or daycare program, EIBI often helps children make smoother transitions into preschool kindergarten, or other learning environments.

Caregiver involvement is an important part of the process. You are welcome to observe sessions and encouraged to practice ABA strategies at home, helping your child apply learned skills outside of sessions.

EIBI may be a good fit if your child:

  • Is five years old or younger
  • Has a diagnosis of Autism or a developmental delay/disability
  • Needs significant support with communication or social interactions
  • Needs significant support with daily living skills, routines, or transitions
  • Experiences frequent or intense behaviors that impact learning, safety, or daily life

Families interested in EIBI services are welcome to request more information or explore our FAQ page to learn more about ABA or start the onboarding process.

Autism Evaluations

If you’re noticing signs that your child might have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and hasn’t been evaluated yet, you’re not alone and you don’t have to navigate this journey by yourself. A formal evaluation can be an important step in understanding your child’s unique developmental strengths and challenges. It also opens doors to helpful therapies, supports, and, if needed, school planning through IEP or 504 services.

ASD evaluations are completed by developmental pediatricians, psychologists, psychiatrists, or other licensed providers with specialized training. Your child’s Primary Care Physician (PCP) or pediatrician can provide a referral, or Dominion Care can connect families with trusted providers in your community.

Evaluations generally include:

  • A caregiver questionnaire to understand your child’s history and behaviors
  • A child observation, typically lasting 45-60 minutes, in a comfortable environment
  • A written report summarizing observations, recommendations, and diagnosis, usually completed within 3-4 weeks after evaluation

While there are several evaluation tools to diagnose ASD, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) is considered the gold standard. These assessments are play-based and designed to make children feel comfortable while allowing the assessor to observe key skills and behaviors. Dominion Care offers limited ADOS-2 testing, through self-pay or Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) funding only.

An Autism Evaluation may be appropriate if your child:

  • Is non-verbal, speaks little, or has unusual speech patterns
  • Shows intense, repetitive interests or behaviors
  • Prefers routines and struggles with changes or transitions
  • Has challenges with social awareness, such as avoiding peers or difficulty with back-and-forth conversation
  • Is extremely sensitive, or less sensitive than expected, to sights, sounds, textures, or other sensory input

Families interested in learning more about Autism Evaluations or ADOS-2 testing are welcome to request more information or explore our FAQ page.
