Stephanie Chivers
Tidewater Assistant Principal
Stephanie Chivers is the Assistant Principal at Dominion Academy and TEC in Norfolk, Virginia. Born and raised in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania then attended the historical teacher’s school, Millersville University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Secondary English Education. After two years as a long-term substitute, she relocated with her husband to Pensacola, Florida and taught at Ransom Middle School. In 2002, they moved to Norfolk and remained in Virginia ever since. During ten years teaching at Chesapeake Bay Academy in Virginia Beach, her love for special education took hold leading to a Masters in Special Education from Old Dominion University. In 2012, she answered her calling to become Director of the St. John Lutheran School in Norfolk which was my first experience in school administration. Despite many rewarding experiences, the urge to return to a special education classroom remained. So, in 2018, she accepted a teaching position with a new private day school in Norfolk, helping to open the Academy and TEC programs at our Norfolk locations. In 2022, she was promoted to Assistant Principal and completed a second Masters in Educational Administration.
