Valerie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides individual, couples, and family therapy primarily with adults with depression, anxiety, abuse/trauma/PTSD, relationship issues and parenting. She earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and clinical Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has been practicing for 30 years. She also has worked with children and teens in outpatient, inpatient and community mental health settings. She uses a person-centered approach with reflective listening and support, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and alternative methods, such as, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Havening Techniques, and action methods if client desires.

Dominion Care Welcomes Rebekah O’Donnell, MSW

I am passionate about supporting you on your journey toward healing, self-discovery,
and personal growth. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and rooted in
empathy. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore
challenges, build resilience, and develop meaningful strategies for change. My goal is to
tailor therapy to your unique needs and strengths. I draw from evidence-based practices
such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based perspectives, and
mindfulness techniques, adapting my methods to best serve you.   I attended San Diego
State University for my undergrad where I majored in Sociology with a minor in
Religious Studies. I earned my Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth
University. Now that I am a Supervisee in Social Work I am committed to ongoing
learning, cultural humility, and ethical care.  In my spare time I enjoy drinking coffee,
attending concerts, and reading.  It would be my honor to walk alongside you in this

Sydney Mckenney, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work

Sydney McKenney earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2025. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at James Madison University, Sydney developed a career in nonprofit communications, focusing on a range of social justice issues before transitioning into the social work field. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and various mental health conditions. She draws inspiration from elements of CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, values work, expressive therapy, TF-CBT, play therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Sydney views therapy as an opportunity to give individuals the space and agency to process life’s most challenging experiences. For fun, she enjoys reading, creative writing, crafting, and being the most chaotic participant in various group fitness classes.

Alex Williams-Diaz is a Resident in Counseling and a dedicated mental health professional with a passion for supporting teens and young adults. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and History, as well as master’s degrees in Secondary English Education and School Counseling, all from the University of Virginia.
Alex brings experience as both a high school English teacher and school counselor, and she is especially passionate about helping adolescents navigate life’s challenges. She has worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions, and she takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach that empowers clients to recognize their resilience and move toward meaningful growth.
Outside the counseling room, Alex enjoys reading, mountain biking, and learning about different cultures with her children.
